Guidelines

Topic

  • Submissions to the Carnival of Politics should be on the topic of politics, government, elections, democracy, ideology, and legislation. This carnival is a forum for all political ideologies - left, right, center and anywhere in between. It is intended to be US centric, but that doesn’t exclude a few relevant and well written posts about global affairs. This is the carnival of show business for ugly people. I can only hope that some of the worms actually turn out to be glow worms.

Submissions

  • Submissions should be made via the carnival’s own submission form found here
  • Submissions should be received by 5pm Eastern on Sunday to be included, after 5pm they will be sent to the host for the next week’s carnival
  • Submissions that are Spam, Scam, Advertisements, or anything of the sort will be eliminated.
  • Submissions that are of poor quality (overly short, incoherent, difficult to read because of non-standard english, etc.) will be eliminated

Hosting

  • As the host, you are expected to promote the carnival by asking your readers for submissions
  • If people submit posts with views that differ from your own, you are asked to disagree without being disagreeable. You are asked to be an impartial moderator of public debate. If that is too tall a task, then let your opinion be known, but be nice about it.
  • Put together the week’s submissions into an edition - add some creativity, highlighting the best posts, and filter out the junk
  • Hosts should publish the carnival by 8am Eastern on Monday
  • Once the carnival has been posted, send us a message so we can update the permalink and post the status on our homepage
  • You should include a link back to carnival in your post
