Hosting a carnival is a great way to connect with the larger community of bloggers on your issues, to raise your profile in the blogging community, and to draw new readers to your blog.

However, hosting is a commitment: as host you are expected to promote the carnival, read over and edit the submissions that are sent in (putting some creativity into the presentation, highlighting the best posts, and deleting any spam that makes it through our filters), and of course publish the carnival by 8am Eastern on Monday. All told, expect to put in at least 30 minutes to an hour of time to be a good host.
